Permanent "down hole" type water pumps with integrated fish screens for in-lake drinking water or industry
We are fortunate in Canada that we can safely drink the water found in many of our lakes. The water pumps commonly used are the "down hole" well style pumps, fitted into PVC sleeves. As these pumps draw water from fish bearing waters, they have to be equipped with a fish screen compliant with Section 30 of the Fisheries Act. As the water is used for human consumption, all parts of the pumping system that come into contact with the water must be NSF/ANSI -61 certified.
From nearly thirty years of experience placing in-lake water pumps, we've seen what survives the test of time and what doesn't. Our pump stands are designed for ease of placement on the lake bottom... then decades of trouble free use. Our advice to lake front home owners is to contract a professional water pump installation company and use "Fish Screen Canada" pump stands with the attached pump sleeve and integrated Department of Fisheries and Oceans compliant fish screen... which meet municipal and federal standards.
